A Call To Action That Really Works: Click Here

When you see an ad telling you to “click here” what do you generally think about it? Is that a strong call to action? Does it really motivate you to want to click on something? By itself I think it is a fairly weak statement, but it is never by itself however now is it?

Click here is a very simple statement, but it can be very powerful when paired with the right type of message. It is interesting when you look at marketing material on the internet and you see that term everywhere. I always think that there must be a better way to ask person to take the action that you want them to, but really I can not think of anything that is as simple and as direct.

I suppose you could use things like a hyper linked “more info” statement, but that is not obvious or direct enough I think. “Read more” is also used fairly often on blogs and seems fairly useful as a call to action, but it actually feels like a very passive statement to me. In marketing material I do not like passivity. I think marketing statement should be bold and really make a prospective buyer make a decisive “action” choice.

I feel that doing so get’s them in the “buyer state of mind.” Maybe that is why such a simple state like “click here” can be so effective and why it is so widely used. It is direct and it is powerful and more importantly it requires decisive action that places the buyer (by their own choice) into your sale funnel.

After your buyer as elected to drop themselves at the top of your sales funnel the whole process becomes much easier. I mean they are there because they want to be. At this point you just need to make sure that your sales funnel is structured properly. Doing things like giving away more good free information is helpful, but beyond this you want to use this funnel to demonstrate how wildly happy or successful or healthy your prospect would be if they follow through with your sale funnel.

This is your chance to really make some bold claims and statement (backed up by proof) to really get your prospects chomping at the bits. You want them to be able to taste the success your product or service will give them.
