Deciding From New Home Builders In Columbus Ohio
My wife and I had just recently retired and we wanted to return to our hometown for our golden years. We started to go through the list of new home builders in Columbus Ohio, as we wanted to build, and have it done to suit some of our preferences.
This process was difficult, because to look at all of the available choices, there was not a clear-cut way to make a decision. Of course, when a company puts an ad in a publication, it is going to give all of the glowing reports that they think you want to see.
So to solve our dilemma, we decided to spend a few weeks in Columbus, and rent a temporary office space. We could then use the space to interview various new home builders in Columbus Ohio, and perhaps get some more pertinent information. This would also give us the opportunity to visit some of the sites of the different builders as well as any model homes they might have.
The strategy paid off, as we were able to visit with five different builders, and of course, they all were tremendous. They each had their special qualities, and all of them had several years in the business, so it made our decision that much more difficult. We checked the Better Business Bureau, as well as the local Chamber of Commerce, and they were all very active in those organizations, with no bad reports.
Interestingly enough the one factor that helped to make our decision for us, what the section of town in which we wished to live, only one of the builders had any homes in that area. That specific area of the city was prone to flooding, so we wanted to pay attention as to how the builder handled that problem.
We were able to speak to some of the homeowners who had purchased homes from that builder and we learned that the flooding problem had been handled years ago and that the builder was instrumental in pioneering the technique that took care of the problem. That sold us and we were eager to get started.
Our procedure did cost us some extra money, with the extra office space and hotel bills, but we feel that it saved us money in the long run. Having the opportunity of interviewing the new home builders in Columbus Ohio, gave us insight and perspective that we never would have been able to get otherwise.
